Our Sangha

Our community (sangha) offers courses in meditation and regular meditation evenings that include learning about Buddhism.

Our teachers are practicing Buddhists who endeavour to live everyday lives which reflect the ideals and practices of Buddhism.

The meditation techniques we teach can be used by anyone regardless of religious beliefs.

We are part of a The Triratna Buddhist Community, a worldwide movement, which was founded in 1967 by the venerable Sangharakshita.

The Triratna Buddhist Community draws upon the entire Buddhist tradition and expresses this in a form accessible to Western lives.

"Experiences are preceded by mind, led by mind, and produced by mind. If one speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness follows like a shadow that never departs."

from  "Dhammapada: The Way of Truth" translated by Sangharakshita

"Mindfulness is an ancient Buddhist practice which has profound relevance for our present day lives... it has everything to do with waking up and living in harmony with oneself and with the world. It has to do with examining who we are, with questioning our view of the world and our place in it, and with cultivating some appreciation for the fullness of each moment we are alive. Most of it has to do with being in touch."

from  "Wherever You Go, There You Are"  by Jon Kabat-Zinn

Getting Involved

Getting involved in a Buddhist Community offers the opportunity to transform one's life.

It presents a chance to form friendships, learn and practice meditation, and develop the skill of mindfulness. Where we move towards a place of fulfilment and our experience of the world is more positive, rich and rewarding.
